Brain surgery










I was quite dismayed, when reading a Far Side book, to realize that not only had Gary Larson come up with pretty much the same gag, but that he had done so before me!

I feel a bit like Scott arriving at the South Pole to find Amundsen's Norwegian flag already planted there.

Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier is one of the pioneersof the modern science of chemistry. Among others things, he gave the name of oxygen and hydrogen to these elements, and discovered the role the former plays in combustion.

Lavoisier fell victim of Robespierre's reign of terror during the French revolution and was guillotined on the eigth of May, 1794.
